The Royal Bolton Hospital was the first NHS trust to adopt AI aided technology in radiology with the adoption of qXR in April 2020. As the COVID-19 pandemic evolved through the UK, they experienced a heavy footfall of individuals symptomatic for COVID-19 walking into the facility for care. qXR was used by both clinicians and radiologists for the reporting of chest X-rays as a second read to ensure no potential cases were missed and to support clinical decision-making for better patient outcomes.
